"Culture transforms. It has the capacity to generate questions, to activate sensitivity, to give meaning to the experience of being alive. People seek it, they need it, they enjoy it."
Ana María Durán is a journalist and cultural manager.
She was a journalist for the newspaper El Espectador and a correspondent in Paris in 2007. She worked in the International Press Office at the Presidency of Colombia, and from the Colombian Embassy in Paris, she participated in the France-Colombia Year 2016-2017, a key cultural exchange project between the two countries.
For the past seven years, she directed the Casas Riegner gallery in Bogotá, where she brought together artists, collectors, and audiences with a broad and sophisticated perspective.
With this new project, Culture Club, Ana María leads the vision for content and experience, connecting the best of culture and the arts through carefully designed events that foster reflection, critical thinking, and education on new perspectives and viewpoints.
Elena Hoyos is a designer and visual artist.
Her practice focuses on large-scale, site-specific installations created with reclaimed materials from various productive contexts, exploring the material infrastructures that sustain daily life and often remain invisible. She has participated in exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá), Feria del Millón, Espacio El Dorado, and Vértigo Contemporary, and completed an artist residency in Denmark.
Recently, she developed the first artistic intervention for an OPE Outdoor billboard, expanding her research on materiality and the urban landscape into new public art formats. She is currently pursuing an MA in Public Art and Performative Practices at London Metropolitan University (UK), where she will continue developing her research on installation and public space.
At Colture Club, Elena leads content development, research, and cultural programming, in addition to supporting the creation of partnerships and experiences alongside artists, galleries, and institutions. Her perspective from the arts brings a critical and sensitive approach to building a community that finds in culture a way to connect with the world.
Institutions, artists and spaces that share our cultural vision with those with whom we share the same vision.
